Indications for use
- For children:
- requiring short- or long-term tube feeding;
- with increased nutrient needs;
- with or at risk for malnutrition;
- with failure to thrive.
- For oral or tube feeding use.
- Can be used as a supplement or as a sole source of nutrition.
Safety precautions:
- Not for parenteral use.
- Not for children with galactosemia.
- For children under 1 year of age, consult a physician or qualified health care professional prior to using PediaSure.
PREPARATION
Instructions:
Use under medical supervision.
Use by date on end of can.
Oral feeding:
- May be used for total or supplemental nutrition.
- May be fed at room temperature or chilled.
- Serving PediaSure chilled enhances its flavour.
Tube feeding:
- Adjust flow rate and volume according to patient’s condition and tolerance.
- Feed at room temperature.
- Additional fluid requirements should be met by giving water between or after feedings or when flushing the tube.
- Care should be taken to avoid contamination of this product during preparation and administration.
NOT FOR IV USE.
Not for children under the age of 1 unless specified by a health care professional.
Storage:
- Store unopened at room temperature.
- Shake well and clean top of can thoroughly before opening.
- Once opened, store covered in refrigerator and use within 48 hours.
